AES Posts iPhone and Android Apps to Cover Convention Events and Ongoing Timely News

New York, NY —   In an effort to provide 131st AES Convention attendees with up-to-the-minute details on Convention events, AES webmaster Steve Johnson has coordinated the development of a mobile app that will work on iOS devices, such as the iPhone and iPad, plus most Android devices.  Available for free download at the Apple and Android stores or via links on the Audio Engineering Society website, the app is loaded with extensive information about the 131st AES Convention, set for Oct. 20-23 at NY’s Javits Convention Center.  Additionally, it will be updated frequently to provide ongoing news and videos to keep it a vital year-round AES information source. Weiss Releases it First “Analog I/O Only” Product at AES in New York

New York, NY — At AES Booth # 762, Weiss Releases its First “Analog I/O Only” Product, the API 500 Series “Weiss A1” Mic pre / De-esser Module.

The A1 sports a transformer balanced microphone input with switchable phantom power and two low cut filters. The input sensitivity control covers a wide range and allows accommodation for line levels too. The De-esser section allows for setting center frequency, bandwidth and threshold. In the “listen” mode the selected band can be listened to for easy dialing in the offending sibilances. The output section consists of a volume control, a polarity switch and a transformer balanced output stage. Metering displays sport a 3 LED meter for input level, a gain reduction indication LED and an output overload indication LED. More »
