AES Announces Convention Sponsors of 134th Convention in Rome

May 1st, 2013 | Posted in News, newsletter

Rome, Italy — “The AES has always been the place for the audio industry to promote innovation, education, and best practices,” states Executive Director Bob Moses. “In the past, the exhibition provided a platform for companies to showcase the latest and most advanced technologies for recording, live sound, broadcast and related audio fields. But during the past decade, e-commerce, social networking, mobile platforms, economic struggles, and the increasingly rapid pace in which we work, have coalesced into a total game changer.  We’re exploring a number of new ways AES can serve businesses at the convention and beyond. These initiatives are part of our new convention sponsorship program.”

Moses underscores the growing need for companies to cut through the ubiquitous online chatter to reach key customers and decision makers.  “Many companies want to deliver the message that their brands stand for quality and innovation.  And they realize that our industry is driven by advancing technology — innovation fuels growth. AES is the ideal place to promote a healthy audio ecosystem.  Sponsored on-site training sessions and focused demos are two examples of this AES/business partnership.” Our evolving role is to nurture a vigorous community for audio professionals who demand high quality audio equipment and keep the bar high for the audio profession across the board.  More »

Trinnov Audio CEO to Present Brief on TimeCode Aware Loudness Monitoring at AES Rome

May 1st, 2013 | Posted in News, newsletter

Paris, France — Arnaud Laborie, the s CEO of Trinnov Audio, will give an engineering brief poster on Saturday, May, 4, from 11 to 12:30 AM in the Foyer during the 134th AES Convention in Rome. The brief is entitled, “Timecode-Aware Loudness Monitoring: Accelerate Engineers’ Everyday.”

“While EBU R-128 loudness normalization is in the process of being adopted by a majority of European countries, most real-time loudness meters aren’t still completely adapted to mixing engineers’ workflows, as continuous project measurements are always required to keep consistent loudness values. By slaving the loudness measurement to an incoming time code, every loudness and true peak values are constantly recorded and time stamped, allowing their calculation at any time. Engineers no longer need to manually pause, resume, or even start a measurement over to keep a relevant loudness monitoring.” More »

RCF Rocks Suhr Guitar Event

May 1st, 2013 | Posted in News, newsletter

Edison, NJ — When Suhr Guitars decided to demonstrate their high-end guitars to customer and dealers during a live, two-day event, it was important that the sound system be perfect.

Suhr guitars are built with the highest quality standards possible and with incredible attention to detail. The end result is an instrument of unparalleled tone crafted from the finest materials available. Top guitar players and support were brought in to showcase the guitars and amps. Notable from the talent pool were Andy Wood, Pete Thorne, Al Estrada, and Doug Aldrich, to name a few. Fortunately, the RCF line array system utilized for the showcase was more than commensurate with the talent it reproduced.
Tom Evans, independent touring FOH engineer, was onsite during the showcase to ensure that the sound for the event was flawless. Recently back from being on the road with Grouplove, he was not familiar with RCF line arrays.
“A warehouse is not normally the ideal space for a high-end live listening session, but with the RCF system it sounded terrific,” Evans explains. “I had not used RCF before and was incredibly impressed with the sound quality and the even coverage throughout the room.” More »
